Using our MCS accreditation to good use

At Senate we’re MCS certified to install Air Source Heat Pumps – an effective way to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and lowering the output of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere.

Our recent project at the Cheshire College – South & West in Crewe, has seen us install 11 Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) to replace their old and inefficient gas fired boilers and helping them to reduce their carbon emissions footprint.

The Air Source Heat Pumps are environmentally friendly and cost-effective, estimated to reduce heating energy by up to three times compared to standard gas fired boilers. They also reduce regulated carbon emissions of more than 90% over the lifetime of a building.

As part of the decarbonisation project we also upgraded the radiators across the whole college campus to ensure maximum efficiency and heat release, keeping the 11,000 students using the college each week warm and ready for the winter months..
