Senate Group was appointed by Drees & Sommer to deliver a comprehensive energy-efficiency upgrade at Salford City Academy, supporting the school’s drive toward sustainability and reduced carbon emissions.
The scope of works centred around the removal of outdated heating infrastructure and the installation of modern, low-carbon systems. This included the installation of Air Source Heat Pumps, carefully positioned on the designated area alongside the school, as well as the removal of redundant boilers and radiators throughout the building. New radiators were installed with all associated works made good to ensure a high-quality finish.
To further enhance the building’s energy efficiency, the project also included the installation of Solar PV panels and a full upgrade to LED lighting throughout the school, reducing ongoing operational costs and supporting long-term sustainability targets.
Our in-house team led the project from start to finish, ensuring complete control over delivery, safety, and quality. As experts in delivering decarbonisation projects in the education sector, we understand how important it is to minimise disruption to the day-to-day operation of the academy, working collaboratively with stakeholders to plan works around school hours and maintain a safe, secure environment.
Drees & Sommer selected Senate for our proven ability to manage complex building services projects in live environments. Our experience, attention to detail, and commitment to quality meant we were able to deliver this critical infrastructure upgrade safely, on time, and to the highest standard.
